Route overview
Rising steeply above the remote waters of Loch Treig, this classic pair of Munros offers an excellent out-and-back ridge walk from Fersit. The route climbs onto a high, undulating crest that links two magnificent, stony summits. Walkers are rewarded with expansive views stretching across the Grey Corries, the Mamores, and the Nevis range.
Terrain and underfoot
The walk begins on a firm estate track before transitioning to a very muddy ATV track and path across the lower moorland. The initial climb onto the ridge at Meall Cian Dearg is exceptionally steep and eroded, requiring careful footwork. Once on the crest, the terrain becomes a mix of broad grassy ridges and stony, path-assisted slopes leading to the rocky summits. Navigation is straightforward in clear weather but requires care on the broad plateau sections if mist descends.
