Show them you know what they love
Have their logbook waiting
That first summit together. The wet one they still talk about. The hills they are proud to have climbed. Add the Munros you know before you give the gift, and their progress will be waiting when they open the app.
- Their climbed Munros, with dates if you know them
- A personal message from you
- Their existing ascents kept, nothing overwritten
Choose “Email me the code” to keep it a surprise. After buying, your private management link lets you prepare their logbook before you send it.

A gift that goes further
Maps on your wrist
Send your route and OS maps to a supported Wear OS or Apple Watch before you set off. Navigate with a glance, without getting your phone out.
Real app screens with example data, not current forecasts. Watch transfer shown on Wear OS with example progress. Forecasts powered by Mountain Weather. OS mapping © Crown copyright and database rights Ordnance Survey.
A useful gift, made personal
A year of OS maps for their adventures, with a logbook you can get started for them.
Your gift unlocks full OS mapping and additional custom departure locations. Forecasts, route information, the logbook and live sharing are also available on its free tier.
Because you care about their days in the hills
Help them head out
better prepared
A thoughtful gift is not just about the next summit. It can help them make informed decisions before they leave, navigate with proper maps, and keep someone at home in the picture.
Live tracking adds a useful layer to their safety plan: when they share a walk, you can see their last uploaded position and the track they have shared, alongside your agreed check-in arrangements.
Proper OS maps, thoughtful planning, a personal gift
Live sharing supports, but does not replace, a safety plan. GPS, signal and battery affect updates, which may be delayed or stop. It is not an emergency service or a substitute for agreed check-in plans, navigation skills, a map and compass.

Munro gift questions
What is a useful gift for a Munro bagger?
A Munro Planner annual gift helps on every mountain day rather than adding another novelty to the cupboard. It combines seven-day forecasts, summit-view scores, midge and spate information, OS route navigation and a shared Munro logbook.
What does the £19.99 gift unlock?
Twelve months of Supporter access, including OS Explorer and Landranger mapping in Munro Planner and additional custom departure locations. The app’s forecasts, logbook and live sharing are also available on its free tier. The gift does not include a separate subscription to the OS Maps app.
How is the gift delivered? Can I put it in a card?
It is delivered by email, not post. Have the code emailed to you to pass on or write inside your own card, or send it directly to the recipient. A printable gift certificate is not currently included. To prepare their logbook before they receive it, choose to have the code emailed to you.
When do the twelve months begin?
Usually when the code is redeemed. If you send the gift directly to someone who already has an account with that email address, it can be applied automatically when sent. To hold it for a birthday or another occasion, have the code emailed to you instead.
What if they already have Munro Planner?
They can use their existing account and keep their logbook. If they already have Supporter time remaining, the gift adds twelve months to their current expiry date. An existing App Store or Google Play subscription is managed separately and is not cancelled by redeeming a gift.
What if they already use OS Maps or Walkhighlands?
They can keep using the tools they know. Munro Planner brings Munro-specific weather and view scores, route planning, drive times and their round into one place. The gift adds OS mapping inside Munro Planner, so check whether that is something they would use.
Will the gift renew automatically?
No. This is one payment of £19.99 for twelve months, not a recurring gift subscription.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The gift is attached to their Munro Planner account, which they can use in the iPhone or Android app.
Does it work on a smartwatch?
Yes. Munro Planner companion apps are available on Apple Watch, Garmin and Wear OS. Use the companion app for your supported watch alongside Munro Planner on iPhone or Android.
Do they need to be an experienced Munro bagger?
No. It is useful for someone choosing their first Munro, working through a round or deciding which remaining hills suit the next good-weather window.
Can I buy it for myself?
Yes. Choose to have the code sent to your own email, then redeem it against your Munro Planner account.
