Route overview
This classic, high-level ridge traverse is one of Scotland's most celebrated mountain outings. Spanning three Munros and several minor peaks, the route offers dramatic, sustained ridge walking with exceptional views over Loch Duich and Glen Shiel. Though relatively short in distance, its continuous, steep ascents and rugged crest make for a physically demanding and highly rewarding day.
Terrain and underfoot
The terrain is exceptionally steep and rugged. The initial climb to the ridge is relentless on a rough, boggy path, followed by a stony, undulating crest with sections of boulder fields and light scrambling. Navigation along the ridge is generally straightforward in clear weather but becomes highly complex in mist due to dual crests and steep drops. The final descent is very steep and rough, requiring careful footwork.
