Route overview

This classic high-level circuit traverses four Munros in the eastern half of the Fannichs range. Offering superb ridge walking and expansive views across Wester Ross, the route combines a rugged, elevated plateau experience with a long, wild outing. It is a substantial day out, starting from the roadside and venturing deep into a grand mountain arena.

Terrain and underfoot

The route features a mixture of wet forestry tracks, faint boggy moorland paths, and excellent high-level stony ridges. Navigation can be challenging in poor visibility, particularly when locating the descent from the first summit. Expect some very steep, loose stony slopes and pathless, exceptionally boggy terrain on the long return leg. The burns crossed near the start and end are bridged, reducing water hazards.
