Route overview
An exceptional high-mountain circuit of three remote Munros starting from the isolated sanctuary of Alltbeithe deep in Glen Affric. This route traverses sweeping ridges and rugged corries, offering a deep sense of isolation and superb panoramic views across the Northwest Highlands. It represents a classic, high-level expedition for those staying in the glen.
Terrain and underfoot
The terrain is varied, featuring well-defined ridge paths alongside boggy sections on the initial ascent through Coire na Cloiche. The shortcut descending into Coire nan Dearcag is steep, pathless, and rough underfoot. High-level navigation can be complex in mist, particularly around the undulating plateau of Càrn na Con Dhu, and a short boulder field must be crossed. Stream crossings near the start are usually straightforward but require care after heavy rain.
