Route overview

This circular walk climbs the massive, grassy dome of Moruisg before continuing along a high ridge to the former Munro, now Corbett, Sgùrr nan Ceannaichean. Starting from Glen Carron, the route offers superb views across the Coulin Forest and Torridon, combining a steep, direct ascent with a scenic high-level traverse.

Terrain and underfoot

The lower slopes near the railway and the return path along the Alltan na Feola are notoriously boggy. The initial climb up Moruisg is sustained and very steep, with a path that runs close to unstable gully edges. Higher ground offers straightforward walking on broad grassy ridges, followed by a steep, rocky descent to the bealach and a final pathless descent bypassing crags. The Alltan na Feola must be crossed on the return.
