Route overview

This short circular outing climbs two of the quieter Munros in the Ben Lawers range from a high-altitude start at the Lairig an Lochain. Offering superb views across to the grander peaks of the group and towards Glen Lyon, the route provides a quick high-level traverse over broad, grassy ridges and a wild, boggy descent.

Terrain and underfoot

The walk features a mix of faint hill paths, trackless grassy slopes, and extensive peat bogs on the return leg. Navigation is generally straightforward, aided by old fence posts on the initial ascent, though care is required to locate the correct ridge descending from Meall Corranaich's northern top. The descent crosses the Allt Gleann Da-Eig, which can be boggy underfoot.
