Route overview

An exceptionally demanding expedition traversing the high, grassy ridges of Glen Affric to claim three remote Munros. This classic circuit features the two highest peaks north of the Great Glen, offering immense high-altitude plateau walking, a dramatic northern spur to Beinn Fhionnlaidh, and a scenic descent over Sgùrr na Lapaich with superb views of the ancient pine forests below.

Terrain and underfoot

Underfoot conditions are highly varied, combining well-constructed estate tracks and excellent high-level grassy ridges with sections of rough, boggy glen paths. The high ridges feature some rocky, loose terrain and a bypassable pinnacled crest. Navigation is generally clear in good visibility but requires care on the vast, complex plateaux. The crossing of the Allt Toll Easa can become impassable during periods of heavy rain or snowmelt.
