Route overview
A classic, highly rewarding pair of Munros rising steeply above the northern shores of Loch Quoich. The route traverses an undulating ridge connecting two distinct summits, offering superb, expansive views over the rough bounds of Knoydart and the Glen Shiel hills. Excellent historic stalkers' paths greatly facilitate both the initial ascent and the final descent.
Terrain and underfoot
Underfoot conditions are exceptionally good for this region, thanks to well-constructed stalkers' paths on the lower slopes and ridge lines. The ascent of Spidean Mialach involves some boggy ground initially before joining a clearer path. The ridge walk between the summits is relatively straightforward but passes close to steep northern corries. The descent from Gleouraich down Druim Seilleach is steep but eased by excellent, engineered zigzags.
