Blà Bheinn stands as a dramatic, isolated outpost of the Cuillin, offering some of the finest mountain and coastal views on the Isle of Skye. Starting from Loch Slapin, this direct out-and-back route provides a relatively short but highly rewarding ascent. It transitions from a pleasant glen walk into a rugged, high-mountain excursion, showcasing the striking rock architecture of the island's southern peaks.
Terrain and underfoot
The walk begins on an excellent, well-maintained path before crossing the Allt na Dunaiche. Higher up, the terrain becomes increasingly rugged and steep, with loose scree, boulders, and a stony gully. The final section requires a short, straightforward scramble to reach the summit ridge. Navigation is generally clear in good visibility, but the upper slopes demand care underfoot due to loose rock and steep drops.
