Route overview
This classic Mamores circuit tackles two outstanding Munros from Kinlochleven, including Binnein Mòr, the highest peak in the range. The route offers superb ridge walking, dramatic views towards the Mamores ridge, and a high traverse. It combines well-graded historic stalkers' paths with rugged, airy crests, culminating in a steep and direct descent back to the glen.
Terrain and underfoot
The approach utilises excellent, historic stalkers' paths, though some sections cross old landslip debris requiring care. The high ridges are a mix of grass and shattered rock, narrowing in places but remaining walkable. In contrast, the descent from Na Gruagaichean is exceptionally steep, relentless, and largely pathless, requiring careful navigation to negotiate a deer fence and find the return track.
