This classic double-Munro outing from Dalrigh explores the beautiful ancient pine forests of Coille Coire-Chuilc before ascending onto the high, undulating ridges of the Tyndrum hills. Offering superb views over Loch Lomond and the dramatic peak of Ben Lui, it provides a satisfying and varied day out on two contrasting summits.
Terrain and underfoot
The lower approach through the glen and Caledonian forest is notorious for exceptionally boggy and sodden paths. Higher up, the terrain becomes drier but increasingly rocky and undulating. The path peters out on the broad ridges, where navigation can be challenging in poor visibility due to complex, craggy topography. The descent to Bealach Buidhe is steep and rocky.
