Route overview

This classic southern Highlands outing tackles two of the most prominent and imposing Munros. Rising steeply above Glen Dochart, the twin peaks of Ben More and Stob Binnein offer an exceptionally direct, high-ascent hillwalk. The reward is an expansive panoramic view stretching across the southern Highlands, coupled with a wonderfully elegant ridge walk between the summits.

Terrain and underfoot

The terrain is characterised by exceptionally sustained, steep gradients on both ascent and descent. Well-worn paths ease the navigation, though sections on the lower slopes and the descent through Benmore Glen are highly eroded and boggy. A short, rocky step on the descent from Ben More requires basic scrambling but can be bypassed. Care is needed near the steep headwalls of Sloc Curraidh in poor visibility.
