Ben Chonzie
Ben Chonzie via Glen Lednock
Route overview
This straightforward ascent of Perthshire's easterly Munro offers an accessible day in the hills. Starting from Glen Lednock, the route utilises estate tracks before climbing onto the broad, rolling heather ridges of the high plateau. It is a popular, uncomplicated outing, offering expansive views over the surrounding glens and Loch Turret from the spacious summit.
Terrain and underfoot
The route begins on a well-maintained estate track, passing a small dam before transitioning to a rougher hill path. The initial section of this path can be boggy and indistinct, but it soon improves as it follows a broad ridge. Navigation is aided by a line of old fence posts on the upper plateau, though care is required to locate the path on descent.
