Route overview
This classic round pairs two contrasting Munros from the A86 near Roybridge. The route climbs the broad, grassy ridge of Beinn a' Chaorainn, offering a fine high-level traverse above dramatic eastern corries, before crossing a boggy col to ascend the rocky, knolly slopes of Beinn Teallach, the lowest of the Munros.
Terrain and underfoot
The lower slopes are boggy and largely pathless, particularly during the initial ascent and the descent from Beinn Teallach. The high ridges offer firmer, more pleasant walking, though the descent to the bealach is wet. A significant river crossing of the Allt a' Chaorainn is required near the end of the circuit, which can become impassable during periods of heavy rain.
