Starting from the remote, roadless Corrour railway station, this is one of the shortest and most straightforward Munro outings. The route climbs the broad west ridge of Beinn na Lap, offering an efficient ascent with superb, expansive views over Loch Ossian and the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor. It is an ideal introduction to the area.
Terrain and underfoot
The initial approach follows a well-maintained vehicle track before transitioning to a faint, boggy path up the lower slopes. The ascent onto the broad ridge of Ceann Caol Beinn na Lap is sustained and steep underfoot. Higher up, the terrain becomes drier but more indistinct and pathless, with some rocky undulations leading to the summit. Navigation is generally simple in clear conditions.
