Route overview

An enjoyable double-Munro round in Argyll, offering a classic ridge walk with superb views over Loch Awe and the Cruachan range.

Terrain and underfoot

Underfoot conditions are highly varied. The walk starts and finishes on well-maintained hydro tracks, transitioning to faint, grassy paths along the ridges. While the ridge walking is relatively straightforward, the final descent from Beinn Eunaich is notoriously steep, loose, and eroded, requiring careful footwork. The track crosses the Allt Lairig Ianachan, which is generally straightforward but can rise after heavy rain.
