Route overview
This classic round from Luiblea near the A86 takes in three distinct Munros. It begins with an easy approach along the shores of Lochan na h-Earba before climbing into the high corries. The route offers a superb contrast between the vast, stony plateau of Beinn a' Chlachair, the sprawling dome of Geal Chàrn, and the sharp, rocky peak of Creag Pitridh.
Terrain and underfoot
The route starts on excellent estate tracks and stalkers' paths. Higher up, the terrain becomes more demanding, featuring pathless peat bogs, steep grassy slopes, and extensive stony plateaus. The descent from Beinn a' Chlachair to Bealach Leamhain is particularly steep and rocky, requiring careful route-finding and minor scrambling. Good navigation skills are essential on the high, featureless plateaus, especially in poor visibility.
