Route overview
Deep within the Letterewe wilderness, this classic round traverses some of the most remote mountains in the Highlands. Starting from Shenavall, the route tackles five Munros and one Corbett, offering unparalleled ruggedness, dramatic ridge lines, and legendary views over the Fionn Loch. It is an exceptionally demanding outing reserved for fit, self-sufficient hillwalkers seeking a true test of endurance.
Terrain and underfoot
The terrain is exceptionally rough and varied, featuring steep heather, extensive quartzite boulder fields, and narrow ridges with minor scrambling. Path quality is highly variable, with faint trails on the high plateaus and a notorious, waist-deep bog in the glen. Crucially, the route requires three major river crossings, including the Abhainn Strath na Sealga, which are dangerous or entirely impassable when water levels are high or in spate.
